Amyx Hill Road Culvert Replacement:

Amyx Hill Road is located north of FM 2449 East of Ponder and West of I-35W. The project includes replacing the current CMPs with 4 box culverts to reduce overtopping of the road. This project is being used as an Equivalent Match Project (EMP) to partner with TXDOT in replacing other bridges in the county. Our latest Milestone schedule may be found HERE.

Old Alton and Loving Branch Closure:

Fall 2018 rains washed out and damaged the Culvert Crossing at Old Alton going over Loving Branch. The road is currently closed with a Milestone schedule for reopening HERE. The county has a consultant assisting in an expedited design as we work closely with the Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Railroad crossing to reduce the likelihood of overtopping as well as a repeat washout.

Duck Creek Road Culvert Replacement

Duck Creek Road between Tejas Drive and Rising Star Lane is now open. Scheduled Completion August 2018. The Contractor is completing vegetation establishment.  Please use caution while driving through the construction zones.

As growth and progress in Denton County continues, the Engineering Department strives to meet and maintain the needs of our residents, property owners, contractors and constituents.

From reviewing plans for a new subdivision to issuing culvert and utility permits, we are here to assist you.

We work closely with the Texas Department of Transportation on our county’s bridges; replacing those that have become unsafe or restoring and relocating our historic bridges of Denton County.
