Courts Division

The county clerk serves as a keeper of the records for all criminal courts, county courts at law, mental health, juvenile and probate courts for Denton County. Duties include but are not limited to maintaining court documents, taking payments for assessed fines and court costs, depositing and distributing court registry funds, and maintaining compliance with current mandates and laws and adjusting business processes accordingly.

When contacting a clerk: The clerk does not have a license to practice law and therefore cannot give legal advice!

Department hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Wednesday hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
