Emergency Notifications

CodeRED is an emergency notification system that we recommend signing up for, you will receive emergency alerts for multiple addresses and phones. This system utilizes; text, E-Mail, and phone for notifications. Opt in to receive timely weather statements on severe weather from the National Weather Service by selecting Weather Warn*.


Nixle is a free text and E-Mail based notification system available to agencies across the nation. It is simple to sign up via your phone by texting 888-777 with your Zip Code. Additionally, you may register online. This is great for general notifications such as road closures.(May not work with all carriers.)

 These jurisdictions are under the Denton County Emergency Operations Plan and are also covered under Denton County CodeRED.

    *Weather Warn messages from CodeRED are automatically sent when the National Weather Service issues a severe weather warning message. This system is automated and is not controlled by Denton County. Questions about Weather Warn should be directed to Emergency Communications Network 1-866-939-0911.
