Eligibility for this program must be determined prior to
service. Denton County Health Department is a Medicaid
provider, but Medicaid eligibility is NOT required for participation in the WIC
Program.
Eligibility Requirements:
Eligibility is limited to those below 185% of poverty
($3,269 per month for a family of four
in 2008). Please call for an appointment. We must
also assess your family's nutritional risk by checking height, weight and blood iron
levels.
- Mission:
WIC is a special supplemental food program that provides
nutrition education and food vouchers for qualifying children, infants, and pregnant or
breastfeeding women.
