The Texas Supreme Court has issued orders authorizing private process servers statewide.

If you currently have a Standing Order in Denton, Dallas or Harris County then
you have been “grandfathered” in by the Supreme Court effective July 1, 2005. Your standing order will
not expire until July 1, 2008.
If you have a Standing Order from Harris County you may serve certain types of papers statewide. If your Standing Order is from
either Denton or Dallas County then you may serve papers everywhere in the state BUT Harris County.

Denton County will no longer be offering Standing Orders for just Denton County. If you do not care to have a statewide
standing order, but you wish to serve papers for a particular case in Denton County, then you may still attempt to obtain a
court order using T.R.C.P. Rule 103.
