The Museum Specialist, serves as first point of contact for the general public, county employees, and others doing business with the Denton County Museums at the Courthouse-on-the-Square Museum and on occasion at the Historical Park of Denton County. Performs a variety of administrative work in support of business activities in the Museums including maintaining financial records, making deposits, creating and approving purchase requisitions, and preparing online administrative items. Writes grants for Museums funding and follows up on funding; completes and reviews all necessary paperwork; ensures compliance with all related laws, policies, and established procedures. Performs extensive research, fundraising, and public speaking activities in support of the Museums. Employee has some museum curatorial responsibilities.
