MINIMUM SALARY: Salary commensurate with experience
DUTIES:

Work involves coordinating and providing care for Health Department patients with ongoing medical conditions, and counseling patients and family members to assist patients in achieving optimum levels of health, comfort and self-sufficiency. Employee is responsible for physically examining healthy and ill patients, and obtaining medical histories, referring patients to specialists or emergency care, and providing follow-up or ongoing care, education and counseling for patients and family members, as necessary. Work also involves performing administrative duties in Department clinical operations, including evaluating programs and assisting in development of policies and procedures. Employee is subject to the usual hazards of clinical work, including potential exposure to communicable diseases and blood-borne pathogens. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum three to five years directly related experience required; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

Licensed to practice medicine in Texas by the State Board of Medical Examiners or, Certification by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in a specialty approved for use in a public health setting, or Certification as a Physician Assistant by Texas Board of Medical Examiners.
