Constable
Jim Dotson has served law enforcement for over 35 years.
Constable Dotson began his career with the Denton Police Department
in June of 1968 in the Patrol Division. In his 28-year plus
tenure at the Denton Police Department he was promoted to various
positions and ranks including Juvenile Narcotics, Investigator,
Patrol Sergeant and Lieutenant, as well as C.I.D. Lieutenant.
In February of 1986 he earned the rank of Captain "Division
Commander" where he supervised Support Services, a 7 million
plus budget, Criminal Investigation, Patrol and the Jail. He
holds a Master Peace Officers License and numerous certificates and
awards. Constable Dotson and wife, Barbara, have three
children and nine grandchildren. He enjoys various activities
including spending time with family, camping, fishing, making wooden
toys and musical instruments.
