A: Child support that is ordered in Denton County is handled by the District Clerk.
Although some older child support accounts are still processed by the District Clerk’s office, payments for child support orders dating from 1994 to present are court ordered to be sent to and processed by the Texas Child Support Disbursement Unit. The phone number is 1-800-252-8014.

A: Voting and elections are handled by the Elections Administration.

Q: Where do I go to pay my speeding ticket?
A: That depends on where you got the ticket and who gave it to you; the location for payment should be written on the ticket. If you have lost your ticket but remember its color, you may be able to determine where you should go. pink tickets are issued by the city; you can call (940) 349-8331. Blue or green tickets will go to the Justice of the Peace in the precinct it was issued.

Q: How are properties taxed and appraised?
A:  The Denton Central Appraisal District identifies property to be taxed, determines its appraised value, whether to grant exemptions, the taxable owner and address, and which taxing jurisdictions may tax the property. For information on values, to file for an exemption, or to report changes in ownership or address, please call the Appraisal District (940)349-3800 or metro (972) 434-2602. The Appraisal District mailing address is P.O. Box 2816; Denton, TX 76202. The Appraisal District office is located at 3911 Morse St. in Denton.  You can also search for properties on the Appraisal District's site.
