Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas was called to order on the 26th day of June, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. in Commissioners Courtroom, 2nd Floor, Courthouse on the Square, Denton, Texas by Judge Mary Horn. Commissioners Cynthia White, Ron Marchant, Bobbie J. Mitchell and Andy Eads were present, along with County Clerk Cynthia Mitchell’s representative, Deputy Clerk, Kathleen Bransford.

Court opened with an Invocation by Lauren Wells, followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Christopher Wells.

ITEM 1 PUBLIC INPUT

Comm. Mitchell announced that Thursday, June 28th, is Judge Horn’s birthday.
Jody Gonzalez, Fire Marshal/Emergency Management Coordinator, updated the court on the recent flooding throughout the county.

Comm. White gave kudos to the Road and Bridge workers for all the overtime they have spent protecting people by putting up barricades at high water crossings and repairing badly damaged roads.

4.A) Approve abandoning a portion of Boyd Road (near the Lebanon Road realignment) just west of F.M. 423, located in Commissioner Precinct #1, and any appropriate action. DA/Civil

The following people spoke for the Petition: Clay Crawford of Crawford & Jordan representing Realty Capital Belmont, Bryan Holland, President of Realty Capital Belmont, Mayor Dewing of Argyle and Richard Tucker, former Mayor of Argyle.

The following spoke with concerns about the Petition: Julie Lyle.

The Argyle School District has yet to make a decision in support of the Petition as stated
by Superintendent Jason Ceyanes.
