Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas was called to order on the 29th day of August, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. at 1000 Highland Village Road, Highland Village, Texas by Denton County Judge Mary Horn. Commissioners Cynthia White, Bobbie Mitchell and Jim Carter were present, along with County Clerk Cynthia Mitchell’s representative, Deputy Clerk, Erin McCorkle.

Court opened with an Invocation followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Dianne Costa, Mayor of Highland Village.

Mayor Costa: Thank you. Father, we just thank You for this beautiful weather and the life-giving rain, Lord, that You showered us with this week. Father, we know that everything has Your attention, Father. You care about every detail of our lives. Father, I thank You tonight that we can conduct business of our County and yet praise Your name in the same room, Lord. So I thank You for the freedoms that we enjoy.

Father, I ask You to be with our County Commissioners tonight as they see to the business of our County, Lord, that they would make judgments based with their conscience, Lord. And, Father, that You would give them the wisdom and the knowledge beyond our years.

Father, I ask You to bless the citizens that are here today, Lord, and their families. Father, that they would enjoy this County. And, Father, we just thank You for how You've blessed it. And we ask this all in the name of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
