Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas was called to order on the 20th day of July, 2006, at 9:00 a.m. in Commissioners Courtroom, 2nd Floor, Courthouse on the Square, Denton, Texas by Denton County Judge Mary Horn. Commissioners Cynthia White, Bobbie Mitchell and Jim Carter were present, along with County Clerk Cynthia Mitchell’s representative, Deputy Clerk, Erin McCorkle.
BUDGET WORKSHOP
Approval of any action related to the 2006-2007 Denton County Budget.

Jail Expansion
Presentation was given on Jail Expansion for 2007; includes opening 96 beds and
a new pre-trial center.
Emergency Management
Discussed Emergency Management Appeals for New Hires: 1 Deputy Fire Marshal, 2
Deputy Fire Marshals/Inspectors (Fire Code), and 1 Office Support Specialist II.
District Judges
Discussed salary increases for District Judges and Commissioner Carter’s
proposal for the salary increase.

Discussed the project schedule of the Precinct #1 Government Center, staffing
for the new offices, and facility costs.
3a) Approve Human Resources corrected ranking of the Tax Office New Hire with
budget impact of $3,425.

3b) Approve reclassification Correction for the Telecommunications Manager, Telephone Department with a budget impact of $7,505.
