Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas was called to order on the 14th day of February, 2006, at 9:00 a.m. in Commissioners Courtroom, 2nd Floor, Courthouse on the Square, Denton, Texas by Denton County Judge Mary Horn. Commissioners Cynthia White, Bobbie Mitchell, and Jim Carter were present, along with County Clerk Cynthia Mitchell’s representative, Deputy Clerk, Kathleen Bransford.
Court opened with an Invocation by Willie Hudspeth, followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Scott Arledge, Assistant Purchasing Director.
Mr. Hudspeth: It turned out for me to give this Invocation because although I have the same problems as many of you have, I've seen the light. Healthy, wealthy and wise. Well, two out of three is not bad, so I want to praise God for this meeting and all of us today. Thank You, God, for this day. It's a good day because we're here and you're here. And we ask that You bless these proceedings and all of us, that we can come to some Resolution over the issues that come before the Court. Be with the Court, God, and guide them and give them the wisdom and knowledge that they need to come up with the solutions and the decisions that will be pleasing to You. I thank You, again, for this day and thank You all for all of those who here. In Jesus' name. Amen.
