November 27, 2001

Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas was called to order at 9:04 AM on the 27th day of November by Judge Scott Armey. Commissioners Sandy Jacobs, Jim Carter, Bobbie J. Mitchell and Cynthia White were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford.

Court opened with an Invocation by Chaplain Bill Baker of the Denton County Sheriff's Office followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Erika Minor, Administrative Secretary to the County Judge.

Chaplain Baker: Great God above us all who creates, who blesses His creation, who governs and blessed all who govern, we praise Your name. We're especially grateful this morning for the privilege of being here. Remind us over and over again of the price that freedom to gather and to govern this County has cost us. I give You a special thanks this morning for men and women like these Commissioners and this County Judge to set aside their time to do this task they're called to do and elected to do. We ask Your divine guidance upon them with all of the business that comes before them. Remind us over and over again that You are the one who is ultimately in charge. Bless us as we come into the holy season and keep us in Your love forever and ever. Amen.
