Precinct 4 Closed Bridges and Bridge Construction Update

November 16th, 2009

Freeman Road @ Trib to Hickory Creek

• Under Construction

North Freeman Bridge was awarded to Atascosa Bridge Company. There are 135 working days in the schedule with a start date of August 26th, 2009. The standard work week is M-F and any rain/weather delays will be added back into the schedule.

George Owens Road @ Wolf Branch
• Closed by TxDOT inspectors due to steel pilings and deck safety issues
• Part of new OD NEAL BRINSAP Agreement – letting date TBD

• Currently in design phase by TxDOT - approx. 30% complete

Old Stoney Road @ Tributary to Denton Creek
• Closed by TxDOT inspectors due to deck and foundation safety issues – Has Bypass
• Part of new OD NEAL BRINSAP Agreement – letting date TBD

• County added to Smith Schluter Old Stoney Project to speed up replacement – Completion Date TBD

South County Line Road Bridge
• Under Construction
Contractor is 2L Construction Company. They closed the road on November 9th and are scheduled to open the bridge to traffic on December 21st, 2009 – if the weather permits them to work according to the planned schedule. The new bridge will be constructed of precast box culverts and the driving surface will 24 feet wide – 12 foot lanes.

All project schedules are subject to change due to weather / rain delays.
