DENTON COUNTY BAIL BOND BOARD MEETING

THURSDAY – DECEMBER 20, 2007

8:30 A.M.

THE DENTON COUNTY BAIL BOND BOARD SHALL MEET IN REGULAR SESSION AT THE COURTHOUSE ON THE SQUARE, 110 WEST HICKORY, DENTON, TEXAS, IN THE COURTROOM, TO CONSIDER AND POSSIBLY TAKE ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING MATTERS:

I.      CALL TO ORDER & ATTENDANCE VERIFICATION

II.     PUBLIC INPUT FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ON THE AGENDA

Citizens should complete a witness form located on the side table.  Pursuant to state open meetings law the Denton County Bail Bond Board is restricted in discussion or taking action on items not posted on the agenda.  Action on your statement can only be taken at a future meeting.

In order to expedite the flow of business and to provide all citizens the opportunity to speak, the chairperson may impose a five-minute limit on any person addressing the Denton County Bail Bond Board.

      III.       REPORTS AND MINUTES

a.       Outstanding bond report and re-arrest fee report by Sheriff’s Office.(consent)

b.      NISI report by County & District Clerks. (consent)

c.       Report including bonding companies, total bonding power, license number and expiration date. (consent)

d.      Monthly report from bond forfeiture attorney regarding bond forfeiture collections.

e.      Discussion and approval of minutes from the meeting of November 15, 2007.         

    IV.         POLICIES AND PROCEDURES   

            a.  Discussion and any possible action regarding the secret ballot election of

                 The Bondsmen’s Representative to the Denton County Bail Bond Board                                 

                 beginning Monday, January 14, 2008, and continuing through Friday,

                 January 18, 2008, with the canvassing of the ballots occuring on January

                 24, 2008.                      

V.         APPLICATIONS AND HEARINGS

a. Discussion and any possible action regarding the renewal application     from Bankers Insurance Company, Shawn Cagle, Agent, d/b/a Shawn Cagle-City Hall Bail Bonds.

b. Discussion and any possible action regarding the renewal application from Edith Marie Burgess, d/b/a Burgess Bail Bonds with the bond power being set at $1,252,190.00 for a 3 year license.

c.  Discussion and any possible action regarding the request from Andale    Bail Bonds to increase their bonding power by $5,000.

       VI.     EXECUTIVE SESSION

For purposes permitted by Texas Government Code Section 551.07 - Contemplated or Pending Litigation or Settlement Offer; Section 551.072 – Real Property; Section 551.074 – Personnel Matters; or Section 551.76 - Security
