Department Organization

The Purchasing Department is a member of the administrative team of Denton County. The Director of Purchasing is employed by the Denton County Commissioners Court and protects the interest of the Denton County taxpayers. The County Director of Purchasing is responsible for assuring fair and equitable treatment to all vendors without regard to political pressure.

The Director of Purchasing of Denton County is charged with the responsibility of purchasing all supplies, materials, and equipment required or used, and contracts for all repairs to property used by the County and supervises all purchases made on competitive bid.

The Director of Purchasing maintains surplus inventory and disposes of all excess, obsolete or unserviceable equipment through bid sales or auctions as provided by law.

To assist the Denton County Director of Purchasing, a staff of ten is authorized as follows:
