We’re Kicking off National Breast Cancer Awareness Month here at Denton County Health Department! Please refer to the document below to access our October 2016 Tool Kit. The purpose of this document, is to provide Denton County residents access to resources for women’s health and events happening within the Dallas-Fort Worth area with an emphasis on breast cancer awareness. It is Denton County Health Department’s and the Women’s Health Program’s mission to encourage our community to live a healthy lifestyle centered on prevention.
Our goal is to create access and opportunity for primary health are services as well as qualifications, pre-conception planning, and counseling, as well as addition women’s health services and family planning (birth control options). The use of preventative health care services is central to improving long term health status. Providing proper health services enables us to empower Denton County residents to make better and more informed choices about their health.
- Well woman exams
- Screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections
- Family planning (birth control methods)
- Pre-conception counseling and Prenatal Care (planning for a healthy pregnancy)
- Abstinence counseling
